Scott B. Mandell, Co-Founder/President
Scott has been President of Enjoy Life Natural Brands™ since its inception in March 2001. He was instrumental in writing the business plan, hiring the initial employees, building the manufacturing facility, and raising the initial capital. In addition to his position as president, Scott concentrates most of his time overseeing the sales and marketing aspects of the company.

Previously, Scott worked for eight years (1993-2001) as a commercial lender and relationship manager at American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago, where he most recently held the title of vice president. His responsibilities included providing financial service solutions to a broad range of privately-held, middle market companies in the Chicagoland area. His position allowed him to interact substantially with entrepreneurial business owners, venture capitalists, and other members of the financial industry.

Scott graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington) in 1993 with a BA degree majoring in History and minoring in Business. He graduated in December 2000 with an MBA degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, concentrating in the areas of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Finance, and Management & Strategy.

Bertram R. Cohen, Co-Founder/CFO
Bert has worked as Enjoy Life Natural Brands’ Chief Financial Officer since the inception of the company. He joined the company on a full-time basis in April 2003. In addition to serving as CFO, Bert also oversees operations and procurement for the company.

Bert worked for three years as an associate director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Banc One Capital Markets. His responsibilities included advising middle market and large corporate companies on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. In addition, Bert has been involved with a number of capital raises for established and start-up companies. Prior to joining BOCM in 2000, he worked for six years in American National Bank’s Commercial Banking Group, providing financial services to a broad range of privately held, middle-market companies.

Bert holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) and an MBA degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. In addition, Bert served on the Board of Directors of Natural Ties, Inc. from 1998-2002, a not-for-profit organization serving people with disabilities, including individuals with autism.

Cindy R. Kaplan, VP - Marketing
Cindy has been employed by Enjoy Life Natural Brands since April 2002. She played an integral part in establishing the company's brand image and product philosophy. Her roles include developing and executing the company's marketing strategy; overseeing package, advertising and collateral design; guiding product development and market research; and managing relationships with key health care practitioners, organization leaders and members of the media.

Cindy knows Enjoy Life Natural Brands consumers well because she is one. She is a recently diagnosed celiac who has used her personal experience to help raise awareness for the health conditions that Enjoy Life Natural Brands addresses (by authoring articles, creating educational materials, conducting trainings for key retailers and the company’s staff, and presenting at conferences).

Cindy has a BS from Union College, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University.

Patricia Marko, Director of Sales
Patricia Marko is a sales professional with more than a decade of experience in the profitable management of natural and organic brands. Before joining ENLB she was the Director of Specialty Sales for American Italian Pasta Company.

Marko is passionate about the gluten-free and allergen-free market and committed to growing this special segment. She has had her own personal experience with food allergies and sensitivities regarding her own two children. Luckily, with attention to these allergies, both her children now have excellent health and continue to thrive illustrating the importance of early diagnosis and proper diet for all who have food allergies and sensitivities.

A native of Alaska, Marko now lives in Texas. She earned her BS from the University of North Texas. For recreation, she is one of the few women who play on a national team in the wildly fun sport of WhirlyBall, best described as a combination of basketball, hockey, and jai-alai played while driving an electrically powered machine, similar to a bumper car, called a WhirlyBug. She plays on a team with her husband and best friend. Patricia is a master multi-tasker, and brings energy, organization, and success to the ENLB team.

Marvin Rea, Director of Operations
A walk-on basketball player at Purdue in the 1980's, Marv fully appreciates the importance of teamwork. With over 10 years in the packaged food biz, he has successfully built and run production operations for such big-time companies as Kraft and Quaker. He is best known for his "make it happen" attitude, which has prompted such accomplishments as re-engineering processes to save a whopping $2MM, and overseeing the development of a monster warehouse facility. At Enjoy Life, Marv's positive outlook and team spirit keep us motivated and on track. We consider his hire a real "score." He has a B.A. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
